WHO calls for calm over Omicron variant


The World Health Organization's chief scientist Soumya Swaminathan is telling people not to panic over the emergence of the Omicron COVID-19 variant.

Dr Swaminathan says while the strain appears to be very transmissible, the right response is to be prepared and cautious.

She also assures the world is much better prepared given the development of vaccines.
