Victoria’s consideration of reviving mask mandate ‘smacks of panic’

Sky News host Peta Credlin says two and a half years into the COVID pandemic, Australians are still forced to wear masks and work from home.

“Yesterday, Daniel Andrews extended Victoria’s state of emergency for another three months,” she said.

“Today, the body that advises the federal government on vaccines – ATAGI – officially recommended a fourth COVID recommended for everyone over 30.”

Ms Credlin said the mask mandate was also set to be revived and the new Victorian Health Minister Mary-Anne Thomas – the fourth health minister in four year – did not commit to saying she would reinstate it.

“But mask mandates, and work from home orders, she noted, were exactly what the premier’s new pandemic declaration would enable her to make, compulsory,” she said.

“If people want to wear them, fine, that’s their business … but making them compulsory again, smacks of panic.”
