Uncle Waffles, Cassper & Nasty C receive more praise from international rappers

International artists over the past few weeks have shared their love for South African music and hip hop artist Rick Ross (real name William Leonard Roberts II) after he gave a special shout out to a few of them.

From DJ Black Coffee winning his first Grammy this month and collaborating with many global industry peers, South African music and artists have never been this talked about since the rise of the music genre amapiano.

Rick Ross is no stranger to mingling with our local stars.

In February he was photographed with Shauwn “Mamkhize” Mkhize and son Andile Mpisane before his opening act performance at The Street Tour music concert in the United States.

Rick Ross listed his favourite African artists during his trip to the continent.

He said Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Uncle Waffles, Priddy Ugly, Da L.E.S, Young Chief, Tshego Kwesi Arthur, Black Sherif and Quamina MP are amongst his favourites.

The Aston Martin Music hitmaker visited Angola and Nigeria to perform and mingled with the locals.

In the first video above, the rapper was criticised for his pronunciation of the names, but he took it on the chin and posted another video after his return to the US.

Cassper and Priddy Ugly appreciated Rick Ross’s approval.

Female DJ, Uncles Waffles possible number one fan, Drake takes her music seriously.

He co-signed her this week, an official endorsement of the DJ, which means more than just visibility and many believe this could open even more doors for the young musician whose star is currently on a meteoric rise.
