Princess Anne to open Royal Easter Show

Princess Anne will open this year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show in a grand celebration of the event’s bicentenary.

This will be the first time the show has been opened by a member of the royal family in 34 years.

Her Royal Highness will be representing her role as patron of the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth.

The event has been deemed a “Royal” event since receiving a blessing from Queen Victoria in 1891, while Queen Elizabeth attended in 1970 and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2014.

Princess Anne last performed opening duties in 1988.
