Kevin Rudd ‘reached a new low’ after launching personal attacks on reporter

Sky News Digital Editor Jack Houghton says former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has “reached a new low” after launching personal attacks on a journalist in Melbourne.

“You might know Kevin as the failed Prime Minister who lost the support of his own party through his aggressive and overbearing management style – little has changed today,” he said.

Mr Houghton said Mr Rudd – who has a history of “comparing journalists to cancer” – had an interaction with Sky News reporter Simon Love, who asked the former prime minister a few questions.

Mr Rudd was asked about Labor candidate Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah who has previously said she does not like the AstraZeneca vaccine and even said it had failed.

Mr Rudd accused Mr Love of “finding any piece of dirt on a Labor candidate” to discredit them.
