Taylor Swift has added another feather to her hat – or graduation cap – after receiving her honorary Ph.D. from New York University (NYU).
But whilst Taylor may officially be a doctor, don’t expect her to perform any medical miracles. Unless, of course, it is creating therapeutic music
TAYLOR SWIFT GRADUATES WITH PHD
Whilst Taylor Swift never attended university due to pursuing her music career, she received her Ph.D. this week.
Due to the covid-19 pandemic, the graduation ceremony included graduates of 2020, 2021, and 2022.
In her speech, Taylor Swift praised the graduates for their resilience through the pandemic and their commitment to achieving an education.
She said: “You because you went to NYU during a global pandemic, being essentially locked into your dorms or having to do classes over Zoom. Everyone in college during normal times stresses about test scores, but on top of that, you also had to pass like 1,000 COVID tests. I imagine the idea of a normal college experience was all you wanted to.
“I would like to say to you, you should be very proud of what you’ve done with it”
And whilst her life is envied by fans around the world, Taylor Swift touched on the lows of her personal life, including being publicly humiliated and cyberbullied.
She added: “Getting canceled on the internet and nearly losing my career gave me an excellent knowledge of all the types of wine”.
Taylor also had more advice for the class of 2022 in the form of life lessons like discovering your identity, navigating independence, and making mistakes.
She continued: “Hard things will happen to us. We will recover, we will learn from it….As long as we are fortunate enough to be breathing, we will breathe in, breathe through, breathe deep, breathe out. And I’m a doctor now, so I know how breathing works”
