Consensus politics very ‘refreshing and constructive’

Former Labor advisor Tom Cameron says consensus politics is not necessarily new, but it is certainly very “refreshing and constructive,” in regards to the Albanese government’s Jobs and Skills Summit.

“The commentary and the kind of observations that have been made by many since the summit are spot on in that it is just such a breath of fresh air for a government to undertake their policy thinking and setting a agenda for years ahead in a manner that is really kind of consensus-driven,” he told Sky News Australia.

“And about finding where we can agree, not disagree.”
