AEMO urges residents in NSW to conserve energy ‘if it is safe to do so’


Australian Energy Market Operator CEO Daniel Westerman has urged residents in NSW to conserve energy if it is safe to do so amid tight supply.  

He said during a media conference on Wednesday there were a “variety of factors” affecting the Australian electricity system, with supply and demand tight, particularly in NSW.  

“Supply and demand is tight, in particular NSW, where we would urge customers in NSW to conserve energy this evening if it is safe to do so,” he said.
